Fuerte Avocado

Before Hass, Fuerte was the king of California avocados. It is significantly more cold-hardy than Hass, making it an excellent choice for inland valleys that experience occasional frost. The fruit has a smooth, green skin that peels easily, revealing a pale green flesh with a creamy texture and an outstanding, slightly nutty flavor. It is a large, spreading tree that makes a magnificent landscape specimen.
