    The Meiwa is the sweetest of the kumquats. Unlike the Nagami, both the rind and the flesh of the Meiwa are sweet, making it the preferred variety for fresh eating. The fruit is round rather than oval. The tree is slightly less vigorous than the Nagami but shares its excellent cold tolerance and high ornamental value.
