The Mexican Key Lime produces small, round, thin-skinned fruit with a highly distinctive, aromatic flavor and intense acidity. It is the only lime to use for authentic Key Lime Pie. The tree is bushy, thorny, and very sensitive to frost, so it must be planted in a warm, protected location in Southern California. In the right spot, it is incredibly prolific.
